Online Dutch Lessons for Children Abroad

At The Dutch School, we provide Dutch lessons for children living abroad through high-quality live instruction. Your child can join interactive Dutch language and culture classes via Zoom, either in small groups or private settings, all from the comfort of your home. All lessons are taught by passionate and professional native Dutch and Flemish teachers. In addition, our online format makes learning flexible and accessible for families around the world.

Our classes are suitable for children of all ages and levels. Each lesson is engaging and personal. Moreover, the lessons build confidence in speaking and understanding Dutch. As a result, children grow in both skill and motivation.

Native Dutch / Primary Education

Immerse your child in a native Dutch learning experience.
Our curriculum helps Dutch-speaking children abroad stay on grade level with their peers in the Netherlands and Belgium.

We use the latest teaching methods and materials sourced from the Netherlands. In addition, children are prepared for CITO and Diataal testing. As a result, they can transition smoothly between our classes and Dutch schools.

Furthermore, our online lessons strengthen your child’s connection to Dutch language and culture, wherever you live.

Dutch as a Second Language / NT2

Unlock the potential of bilingualism through our Dutch as a Second Language classes. Our engaging online program sparks curiosity and helps children develop a love for the Dutch language.

Your child will build vocabulary, master sentence structure, and understand the fundamentals of Dutch. In addition, our approach combines structure with fun to keep learners motivated and involved.

We offer group classes for ages 5–7, 8–10, and 11–13. Furthermore, we provide family classes for siblings (up to three children) and parent-child classes for ages 11 and up. As children make progress, they may become eligible to transition into our native Dutch program.

Our online students have the opportunity to get a FREE e-book membership to the Public Library of Amsterdam.

We offer the choice of group lessons or private lessons. Group lessons offer the benefit of peer interaction and small group sizes of 2-5 students. Private lessons or family lessons offer the flexibility of scheduling in your time and working at your own pace.
