Our family lessons are designed for families who want to learn Dutch together, but for whom a regular group class may not be the right fit. Perhaps one parent speaks Dutch and would like the children or their partner to learn the language. Maybe your family previously lived in the Netherlands and wants to maintain your Dutch. Or perhaps you are preparing for a move to the Netherlands or Belgium.
Whatever your situation, our online Dutch family lessons can be adapted to your family’s level, needs, and goals.
What is a Dutch family lesson?
A Dutch family lesson is a private online Dutch lesson for up to three family members. Instead of taking separate classes, parents and children can learn Dutch together with an experienced teacher.
Lessons can focus on everyday conversation, speaking and listening skills, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, and grammar, depending on your family’s needs and Dutch language level.
Because these are private lessons, there is much more flexibility to customize the class than in a regular group setting.

Our online Dutch family lessons can be a great option for many different families, including:

- children who are learning Dutch as a second language;

Families can participate from home, making online Dutch lessons for families a convenient option for busy parents and children and for families who do not live near a Dutch school.
In addition to family lessons, the Dutch School offers online Dutch lessons for children. Parents who would like to study Dutch at their own level can also explore our online Dutch lessons for adults.

How much do Dutch family lessons cost?
Most families choose a package of 10 lessons, which gives them enough time to make steady progress and build a regular learning routine together.
10-lesson package: $1,000
Prefer a little more flexibility? Single lessons are also available for $110 per lesson, so you can start with one lesson or schedule lessons as needed. We also offer a 5-lesson package for $525.
