What is CNaVT?
The Certificate of Dutch as a Foreign Language (CNaVT) is a globally recognized exam that verifies your Dutch language proficiency. The exams are practice-oriented and aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), making them relevant to real-life situations.
CNaVT is developed by the Centre for Language and Education at KU Leuven and supervised by the Dutch Language Union. Each year, young adults and adults worldwide take the exam to earn an internationally recognized certificate.

Where and When is the Exam?
The Dutch School is an official CNaVT test center and organize exams annually on our Orange County campus. Registration is open until March 15, 2025. The exam will take place on May 10 in Tustin, CA. How to Prepare?
A solid preparation is key. Here are some tips: Practice with sample exams on the CNaVT website. Listen to Dutch podcasts and watch Dutch videos to improve your listening skills. Write short texts and practice grammar. Speak Dutch as much as possible, for example, with a language partner or in a conversation group.
