Why pursue the Seal of Biliteracy in high School? The Seal of Biliteracy is a distinguished award that recognizes high school students demonstrating exceptional proficiency in another language. Earning this seal not only enhances your academic record but also opens doors to a myriad of future opportunities.

Start early with the Pathways to Biliteracy Awards at the end of elementary and middle school and finish with the Seal of Biliteracy on your high school diploma. Cooperation of your elementary, middle and high school is required.

Besides the Seal of Biliteracy taking classes at our school could mean being eligible for fulfilling language requirements, high school credits and college credits. Cooperation of your high school or college is required.

Elementary School Pathway Award

The intent of the elementary school Pathway Awards is to encourage students along the path of bilingualism.  The recognition is established to recognize preschool, kindergarten and elementary school students who have demonstrated progress toward proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English.

The award is given at the end of elementary school.

Middle School Pathway Award

The purpose of the middle school Pathway Awards is to inspire students as they embark on the journey of bilingualism. These awards aim to honor middle school students who have shown advancement in their abilities to speak, listen, read, and write in one or more languages besides English. The recognition can be given for multiple languages.

The award is given at the end of middle school.

Seal of Biliteracy
High School Award

The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school, district, or state in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. The Seal of Biliteracy encourages students to pursue biliteracy, honors the skills our students attain, and can be evidence of skills that are attractive to future employers and college admissions offices.

The award is given at the end of high school.
